In this last level test there are a series of interactive exercises which test all the skills: reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. Themes and topics such as: talking about the news and current affairs, the theatre, talking about health and healing, asking for and giving advice and giving opinions are tested through activities such as drag and drop, finding synonyms, true and false comprehension, detecting errors and choosing appropriate sentences etc. The test also incorporates more phrasal verbs and extended use of relative clauses, articles and a full tense review to build on the structures from previous tests. In the pronunciation section there are exercises to focus on similar sounds, difficult words and expressions as well as word stress.

Level test B2

The interactive vocabulary exercises in this section look at the extended family, some common phrasal verbs, writing antonyms and selecting the odd word out. The following sections of the test take an over-all look at the following tenses: Present continuous for future reference, Future perfect continuous, Used to vs. would, Modal verbs of deduction in the past and Relative clauses through comprehension of a short newspaper story, a work email and a restaurant review. There are a variety of exercises such as: True or False, sentence completion, drag and drop and sentence transformation. You will also be tested on the correct use of: Until, after, as soon as, while, before, during, Say and Tell, the order of adjectives and your ability to express written dates. We continue to look at correct pronunciation through interactive exercises on homophones and question tags as well as overall pronunciation skills.

Level test B1

The test for B1 expands on the themes in previous levels and in addition focuses on the themes of: body and health, the weather and travel through an interactive exercise to place words in the correct category. You will also provide words according to set definitions. In the reading section you will find texts that deal with assembly instructions, understanding a press release, a formal letter and choosing appropriate endings. The interactive listening exercises look at a variety of tenses which are required at this level – for example the Present Perfect Simple when talking about recent past and understanding complaints. You will hear a radio advertisement to practice numbers and also a show describing a house and the character of the person who lives there. The grammar and writing sections use a variety of exercises such as sentence completion, drag and drop and sentence transformation in order to test the use of: the passive voice, -ed and –ing adjectives, the Second Conditional , expressing permission and prohibition, the correct use of Relative pronouns and extended use of comparatives and superlatives. This is the first level where we see a pronunciation section. You will be tested on regular Simple past endings as well as rhyming words.

Level test A2

The second level test looks at vocabulary such as the months of the year, simple adjectives, the family and food with interactive exercises to put words in the correct category and to complete words and sentences. Continuing from A1, the tests take a wider look at the Present simple and continuous tenses through interactive grammar, reading and listening exercises. The reading section focuses on ability to understand a description of a house, a simple sign expressing personal abilities as well as a more detailed biography including the Past simple tense. In the listening part you will find a gap-fill activity on directions, a comprehension exercise on a restaurant dialogue as well as a telephone conversation about future plans and instructions. The grammar part tests your ability to choose appropriate tenses for given sentences as well as detecting grammatically incorrect sentences. The final, writing section requires you to describe a picture, write sentences using the quantifiers: some, any, a little and a lot as well as make basic comparisons.

In this first level test you will find vocabulary activities to check numbers 1-30, countries and nationalities as well as common English words. There are reading exercises to practice the present simple of the verb ‘To be’ and various common verbs which we use to talk about our daily routine as well as exchange personal information and make basic requests. There are listening exercises to practice spelling and listening for times and specific information. In the grammar and writing sections there are exercises to practice articles, sentence structure, some pronouns as well as your ability to answer questions and choose grammatically correct sentences.

The Level Tests are created for the student to find out which is his/her level of English. There is a test for each of the levels: A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1. Each test includes a section on reading, writing, listening, grammar, and vocabulary and in levels B1, B2 and C1 there is also a section on pronunciation.That will determine at which level the student will begin his or her course of study.

American English Test Level V

In the final Level V, there are 4 vocabulary exercises with more advanced words and phrasal verbs, 4 reading activities with longer texts than in previous levels, 4 listening activities where the student will listen to extended texts and then provide the correct answer, 4 grammar activities in which the student will do error corrections and use advanced verb tenses, 4 short-answer writing exercises and finally 4 short pronunciation exercises dealing with individual sounds, questions, sentences and opposite words.

American English Test Level IV

In Level IV, there are 4 exercises with a bit more advanced vocabulary, 4 reading activities in which the student will read a text and provide the correct answer, 3 listening activities with recorded texts that are significantly longer than in Level III, 4 general grammar activities dealing with various tenses, error correction and say/tell, 4 short-answer writing activities and finally 4 pronunciation exercises that deal with homophones, pronunciation of words and sentences as well as correct reproduction of questions and intonation.

American English Test Level III

In Level III, the tests consists of 2 vocabulary exercises, 4 reading activities in which the paragraphs are a bit longer than in Level II, 4 listening activities in which the student will hear recorded dialogues or paragraphs and then he/she must answer questions, 4 grammar exercises dealing with past and present perfect tenses and error correction, 4 short-answer writing exercises and finally 4 pronunciation exercises in which the student will have to choose and produce the correct pronunciation of individual words.
